Charitable Programs
Pregnancy Chat is an open group setting where pregnant women can come to anonymously discuss their concerns regarding unplanned pregnancy and the options that are available to them.
Maternity Closet is a collection of maternity clothes that is available to pregnant women who are considering adoption. The clothing is offered to pregnant individuals free of charge.
Birthparent Support Group helps those considering adoption placement for their baby as well as those who have placed their baby for adoption, to process feelings and emotions associated with their placement.
Perspective Adoptive Parent Support Groups The waiting period can be a particularly difficult time for couples and singles who are trying to adopt. The Perspective Adoptive Parent Support Group will offer support and guidance for those awaiting placement.
Family Options Annual SHARE Picnic is an event for biological and adoptive families to Share Hope And Real Experiences with other families looking to connect through adoption. This occasion offers a casual environment for adopted children to interact with other adoptees, as well as visit with biological families. While we do accept donations there is no required fee to attend.
Charitable Contribution Birthparent Assistance provides financial assistance to adoptive parents involved in an adoption with large amounts of birth parent expenses. Adoptive parents must qualify.
Birthparent Scholarship Fund is offered annually to one applicant. Birthparents submit an essay about what adoption has meant to them and how it has impacted their life. Family Options staff will vote to select their favorite essay. The winner will receive a small scholarship to be used toward their education.
Education is a key component for a successful adoption. Family Options currently offers two educational courses. “Ready, Set, Grow” is a six hour training session that helps perspective adoptive parents understand the history of adoption, the process and how to navigate many of the issues surrounding adoption. Advanced Strategies for Adoptive Parenting (ASAP) is a course for families who have already adopted. This course addresses such issues as balancing different levels of openness among birth families and talking with your child about adoption.
Community Outreach is a vital piece of our educational program. Family Options staff conducts workshops for individuals and professionals within the community to dispel myths and educate on the adoption process. Our workshops are conducted for high schools, colleges and universities, hospitals, youth groups, community organizations, pregnancy centers, etc.

Family Options Gives Back is a program in which each year Family Options chooses one or more reputable charity to contribute to. The chosen charity will be one that serves to benefit children and families in our community.
